Happy Election Day USA!
If you have already voted, GO YOU! If you have not, GO VOTE! I’m voting today after work and I have to say I’m more excited to vote for some of the questions, particularly 6, more so than I am for voting for President. But no matter who you vote for or if you write-in Leslie Knope, you have the right!
It’s gotten much colder here now in Maryland. And this type of weather always makes me yearn for my yarn and a nice hot cup of tea or coffee. As of late, I’ve been doing just that: sitting in my comfy chair, drinking tea and crocheting… usually while watching Doctor Who, but ya know. Nerds will be nerds. I’ve even taught my sister how to and she’s becoming quite a pro already!
Am I the only one who sees a roll of yarn and a specific person comes to mind based on the color? I saw this gorgeous, almost purple color the other day at the store and bought it instantly. The first person I thought of for this was one of my good friends Yasmin and since her birthday was coming up, I decided to make her something for the upcoming cold weather. I’ve been particularly fond of cowls as of late. They’re so incredibly easy and fun to make. I had found one crochet pattern in particular that I was dying to try, I’m not much of a knitter, mostly because I found crocheting to be much easier but that’s not to say I don’t knit at all. I’m just not as handy with needles as I am with hooks. 🙂
Anyway, here is the cowl I made for Yas:
The color looks much different with the flash, it’s more of a redish purple in real life.
I used this pattern to make the above cowl:
I also made a coffee cozy for my co-workers birthday:
I used this pattern (It looks like a wine bottle, no? 😛):
